From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leader

RAH Productions wasn't built overnight—it’s the result of 27 years of passion, dedication, and relentless perseverance. My journey began in 1997 when I was just 21 years old, landing an opportunity at a small cable TV network called Gems Television. The channel was akin to Lifetime but catered to Spanish-speaking audiences, primarily stay-at-home wives and moms. At the time, I was dabbling in graphic design, teaching myself Photoshop, and working on various projects during my downtime.

Little did I know, my creative tinkering would catch the eye of the Marketing department. Within six months, I was offered the position of webmaster, a role that expanded my skills in web graphics and coding, thanks to sponsored HTML classes. But while I enjoyed the technical aspects of my job, my true passion lay in the production side of broadcasting. I immersed myself in the world of editing and production, learning everything I could by staying late and absorbing the process. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for what would later become RAH Productions.

Turning Passion into Success: The Birth of SpeedLogic

In 1998, a significant turning point came when Telemundo and Sony acquired the network, transforming it into Mun2—a channel aimed at a younger, bilingual audience. Around this time, my colleagues and I were deeply involved in the import racing car lifestyle, long before "The Fast and the Furious" made it mainstream. One weekend, we came up with the idea to pitch a pilot show called "SpeedLogic," centered around our car club and the culture we were living and breathing.

The pilot was a hit. It became the #1 show on the network, running for two successful years and resonating strongly with audiences in Panama, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. This experience was not just about creating content; it was about understanding what resonates with an audience and bringing it to life in a way that captivates and inspires.

Challenges Along the Way

The path to success is rarely smooth, and mine was no exception. Transitioning from web development to production was a significant challenge, requiring countless hours of self-study and hands-on learning. Balancing my official duties with my passion for production added pressure, but it also pushed me to grow faster and adapt to the fast-paced demands of a live TV environment.

Pitching "SpeedLogic" was another hurdle. Convincing a major network to take a chance on a show born from weekend car meets was daunting. There were no guarantees, and the uncertainty was palpable. Yet, perseverance and a deep belief in the project carried us through, leading to a resounding success.

The 2008 economic recession was perhaps the biggest challenge of all. Being laid off from Telemundo after 11 years of dedication was tough. However, this setback turned out to be a blessing in disguise. With a severance package in hand, I took the leap to start RAH Productions, a venture that allowed me to fully immerse myself in the world of film and video production.

It’s the quality that has enabled me to navigate the ups and downs of this industry, push through challenges, and continuously strive for excellence. Whether it’s staying updated with the latest trends or delivering high-quality content under tight deadlines, perseverance has kept RAH Productions at the forefront of the industry.

Having started my career in a small cable network, I’ve learned to be resourceful and versatile—qualities that are crucial in this ever-evolving industry.
